Mr David Anthony, I had my mother’s memorial service at your funeral home on South Main St. on August 14, 2021. I had done a bit of pre-need preparation with Kate Benson. Among other things, Kate mentioned that Katie Anthony could write the eulogy or obituary for the service if that was my choice. In particular, she made mention that Katie was a “very good” writer and that she meets with the family to gather pertinent information. At the time I was debating whether to have a service at all. But, I was intrigued and made note of that option. I am so glad I did. I wrote my mom’s obituary myself but the eulogy was something entirely different. I tried but I just couldn’t do my mom justice. I asked to meet with Katie. My daughter, my cousin and I met at Anthony Funeral home and spent time answering Katie’s questions. We were in a private room and felt comfortable sharing our different perspectives about Mom/Grandma/Aunt Mary. She heard our detailed stories : they made us cry, they made us laugh, but most importantly they revealed who my mother was. Working with that information, Katie delivered a tender and memorable eulogy, the eulogy I would have, if I could have. I came away from the service with a good feeling, remembering how strong and good my mother was. One of my friends later said she felt Katie had “ministered” to us. That is exactly how I felt about the service. My son and daughter and many of our family and friends felt the same. Several asked me to forward the eulogy to them. I am so grateful to Anthony Funeral Home for offering this special service and will always remember the care Katie so skillfully put into my mom’s service. Thank you for your services at this difficult time.

On February 21st our lives changed forever. The most terrifying words a parent could ever hear were said to us. The fact that you personally met with us, grieved with us and spoke of your own experience in loss helped tremendously. We knew Kaitlyn was well loves but never expected the tremendous outpouring of people during the calling hours and how well you treated our family, friends, and business partners while they waited over 3 hours to see us truly touched our hearts. The video and the placing of the photos that your staff put together helped us pass the time and was truly beautiful. People are still talking about how touching the video that has over 1,000 views has been. Lastly, the beautiful book your staff put together so efficiently will always be treasured. It brought us peace knowing each flower arrangement, gifts, and cards were individually photographed and placed in the book. This also helped with writing thank you notes and were so appreciative. Many times we have looked through the book to help us with the grieving process.

David Anthony and his staff were extremely helpful in planning Mom's funeral. He helped us in arranging facility for the luncheon after the service. Dave's daughter followed up with phone calls to make sure we were all right. Great job!
