Wilma Lora Butler

Wilma Lora Butler (95) went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2020 after a period of declining health.

She was born on November 28, 1924 to the late Grady and Allie Beatrice (Duncan) Ward in Linden, Tennessee.

She leaves behind 6 children; Jerry McAfee of Tennessee, Raymond McAfee of New Concord Ohio, Wanda McAfee of Akron Ohio, Lora (Kevin) of Wooster Ohio, Lewis (Liz) Ramey of New Concord Ohio, Van Ramey of Rittman Ohio, 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Leroy Butler, Hugh Ramey and Charles McAfee, her sons Perry McAfee and Ward Ramey, her daughter Rita McKeown, grandson Ward Ramey Jr. (Buddy), two great grandchildren Christian Ramey and Eric Mckinstry, siblings Grady Ward, William Ward, Ellna Morgan, Louise Paschall, Andretta Parrish, and her closest companion, “Cookie” her beloved Chihuahua.

Her greatest enjoyment was cooking for her family at every major holiday - she did this up until a couple of years ago at the age of 94. Thanksgiving was always spent celebrating her birthday and will be truly missed this year. Her love and compassion for her family was her life and after retirement at St. Thomas Hospital, she spent 24 years being the caregiver to her sister and her son. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help a family member and always gave her caring words of encouragement to all. Everyone she met was touched by her love and caring ways and as a family we hope she has found peace as she joins her loved ones in heaven.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 12, at 1pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Akron. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, AKRON)
