William Joseph Hodson

William J Hodson, "Bill", passed away June 1, 2022 after a long illness.
In his earlier days, he played football and was an avid bowler. He continued bowling for many more years, earning quite a few trophies.
After his kids were older, he enjoyed coaching their Little League baseball and softball teams. Later on, he would delight himself in completing crossword puzzles, word searches, and was a fan of all the local sports teams, never missing a game on TV.
He is survived by his best friend and caregiver wife, Joan, children, daughter Debbie (Steve) Gough, son Bill (Mindy) Hodson, son Brian Hodson and daughter Lisa Davis. He is also survived by grandchildren Charla Alboreo, Alexis and Emily Powell, Taylor and Kylee Hodson, and Brandon Davis, and great-grandson Daniel Ellis.
Additionally, he leaves sisters Rosemary Rectenwald, Mary Dunaway and Therese Hodson, and brother Lewis, as well as sister-in-law Mary Joan Hodson.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Herman and Marie (Burton), his daughter Joan Hodson Powell, and brother Jerry.
He was a founding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church, a member of Knights of Columbus, AARP, and Charles Foust Post 281.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Thomas McCann on Wednesday June 8, at 11:00 am, with family receiving friends beginning at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. A private interment with full military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial mass in Bill's memory at IHM Church.
