Vito Volpe

Vito Volpe, 95, passed away surrounded by family on May 4, 2022.
Vito was born in Italy on April 12, 1927, to the late Antonio and Angela Volpe. Vito came with his family to the United States on December 2, 1967, and had been a resident of Tallmadge for over 40 years. He retired from Ohio Edison in 1989 where he made many friends over his 20 years of service. He was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls.
He enjoyed gardening but his greatest joy came from being with his family. He was always ready for a family vacation or to simply sit down together for a cup of espresso or a hand of Scopa.
In addition to his parents Vito was preceded in death by his brother, Rocco, and sisters, Maria and Nina. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Angela; his children Antonio Volpe and Angela (Rick) Schwarz; grandchildren Lauren Volpe and Alexander and Eric Schwarz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 11:00 am at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church. (Anthony Funeral Homes, FALLS, www.anthonyfh.com)
