Theresa A. (McGrath) Vargo

Theresa (Terry) A. (McGrath) Vargo, 89, went home to be with Lord, and her husband whom she loved dearly, this past Sunday, July 24th.

Terry was born July 5, 1933 to John and Susan (Dempsey) McGrath in Akron, Ohio. She was an Akron resident her entire life and a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenmore. Terry was employed by Akron General Medical Center for over 28 years and retired in 1995. After retirement, she was able to enjoy going to the casinos, shopping and watching QVC. In her other free time, she loved to bake and was quite talented at it! Her specialties were banana cake with chocolate icing (dad's and her son-in-law Dave's favorite!), and carrot cake which she also decorated like it came from a bakery.

Terry was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Stephen P. Vargo, her son-in-law David Breitenbach, sister Jean (James) Vondemkamp, her sister Susan (Ed) Boles. She is survived by her children Deborah Breitenbach, Daniel (Kathy) and Stephen D. (Tracy) Vargo, grandchildren Brian, Laurie, Daniel, Steve, Mark, Jon and Todd; and 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 10 to 11 AM at QUEEN OF HEAVEN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown OH 44685, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Fr. Sam Ciccolini officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
