Theresa Elizabeth Heim (nee Marchion) passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at age 89, just two weeks shy of her 90th birthday that she was so looking forward to.
Born on January 25, 1931, Theresa was the sixth of seven children born to Filippo and Benvenuta (Bonnie) Marchion. Mom attended St. Vincent elementary school and West High School. At 17, she met the love of her life, our dad, Robert H. Heim. They married in September 1950 and spent the next 60 years together before his death in 2010. Mom was a great stay at home mother, but we all loved when she took seasonal part time jobs at ONeil's Department Store. Those were really good Christmases! Her favorite 'job' was always the 20 years she spent as a volunteer at Akron City Hospital, now Summa. Mom had a green thumb and her roses, flower pots and clematis were stunning year after year. She received several Beautification Watch Awards from Keep Akron Beautiful.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, parents, Filippo and Bonnie, sister Mary Ann (Annie) Dietry, brothers, Luis, Gabriel, Vincent (Jimmy), Joseph and Angelo Marchion. She is survived by daughters Marie Brehob (Mike) and Joyce Eggert (Larry) of Akron, sons Robert Heim, Jr. (Tracey) of San Antonio, TX, and Jack Heim and Michele Heim of Canal Fulton; grandchildren Christopher, Bartholomew (Lori) and Kelly Eggert, John and Matthew Heim and great grandchildren, Molly, Danica and Benny as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the wonderful nurses and doctors in the Hospice/Palliative Care unit at Summa Akron City Hospital. Their care for mom and support for our family was superb.
