Thaya L. Smith

Thaya Louise Smith, 79, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at her home.
Thaya was born January 13, 1943 to Evers and Helen (Cook) Waters in Akron and had been an Akron resident her entire life. She had been employed by the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce.
Thaya is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Robert F. Smith, Sr.; children, Russell (Laura) Flesher, Rebecca (Jeff) Roe, Ryan (Dr. Alexis) Flesher, Robert Flesher and Ronald (Stacy) Flesher; grandchildren, Nicolas and Natasha Flesher, Chelsea (Adam) Stark, Sarah Roe, Avery and Addie Flesher and Tenaya and Cedar Flesher; brothers, Bruce (Pamela) Waters and Harold (Ruth) Waters; stepchildren, Robert (Holly) Smith, Jr., Christopher Smith, Katie (Jose) Calvo, Jonathan Smith and Allison Smith; step-grandchildren, Nathaniel (Jenny) Smith, Gabrielle Smith, Rebecca Smith, Bennett and Annibelle Calvo and Jonathan Smith, Jr. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Okey Flesher.
A Celebration of Thaya's Life will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
