Russell John White

Russell J. White was born in Chardon, Ohio on February 24, 1938. He passed away on September 2, 2023. Russell loved to fish, cook and restore old cars with friends. He retired from the University of Akron as a construction manager in 2012 and was a builder of many houses in his lifetime. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 where a Saracusta Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the church where Russell will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Father Ian G. Pac-Urar, PhD officiating.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marian. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Betty Oprian White; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Melanie White; sister, Marilyn; brother, Dan; brother-in-law, Danny Oprian; sister-in-law, Rosemary Hogue; nephews, Scott, Tommy, Steve and Michael; nieces, Vicki, Linda, Vicki, Debbie and spouses. He is also survived by a great-niece and nephew; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many loving friends.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Russell's name to Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church or Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
