Rudolph Battistuta

Rudy Battistuta, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Rudy was born in Akron to the late Anthony and Regina Battistuta and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a fireman for the City of Akron, retiring in the 1990s. He was a member at St. Augustine Parish. Rudy was a selfless man, devoted to his family.
In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Toni; and brother Louis. He is survived by his children Janice, Ron (Julie), and Jayne Battistuta; grandchildren Meagan (Mike) and Kristen Battistuta; great-grandchildren Kaleb, Adrian, Christopher, and Jemma; and sister Mary Ann Hipply.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 12 from 10-12Noon at the Anthony Funeral Homes, 1990 S Main St in Akron where a funeral service will be held at 12Noon. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org.
