Rosemarie H. Muha, 89, passed away on March 9, 2023 after a brief illness.
Rosemarie was born on February 12, 1934 and was a lifelong area resident. She was raised in Canal Fulton and worked at Clay's Park as a lifeguard and taught swimming lessons. Rosemarie also worked as a lab technician early in her career. Her favorite job was at Don Drumm Studios. Rosemarie was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed her favorite holiday, St Patrick's Day. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharist minister, a member of the RCIA Team, Ladies Guild, and the Building Committee. Rosie was proud to be a recipient of the NCCW Woman of the Year. She was also a member of the Firestone Park Prime-Timers and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, cross word puzzles, and a cold pint with family and friends on occasion. Most of all, Rosie loved her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Florence (Brennan) Bremkamp; husband Otto Muha; five siblings; and brother-in-law Richard Muha. She is survived by her children Debbie (Chuck) Horak, Barb (Ron) Thomas, Mary (Randy) Oing, Otto P. (Shaun) Muha, Susie Muha, and Dan Muha (Annette); sister-in-law Mary Muha; grandchildren Scott Horak (Lauren), Melissa (Brian) Flaherty, Heather (Jeremy) Fisher, Katie (Nicholas) Wladyczak, Mike (Kaitlin) Wheeler, Brandon (Lyndi) Oing, Lindsey Oing, Jared (Jessica) Oing, Ryan (Angelia) Muha, Erica (Brian) Hilchie, Andy Muha, and Maggie Muha; great-grandkids Abigail, Taylor, Nathan, Penny, Harper, Veda, Presley, Knox, Connor, Alexandria, Lucas, Lydia, and Leah; dearest friends Fr. Steve Brunovsky and Bev Eckman and so many members of the St. Paul Parish Family; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to the entire staff at St. Luke Lutheran Community in the Portage Lakes. Rosemarie was very appreciative of the wonderful care she received and her beautiful view of the lake.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 17th at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St, Akron, OH 44301 from 10am-Noon. Mass of the Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will immediately follow.
