Roberta Penny (Katz) Marquette

Roberta 'Penny' Marquette, 78, passed away on October 31, 2023.
Penny was born on February 1, 1945 in the Bronx, New York City.
She grew up in Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 1966 with a degree in Broadcasting. She earned her Master's in Accounting from The University of Akron and her Doctorate of Accounting from Kent State University. Penny was an accounting professor at the University of Akron for nearly 25 years, teaching and mentoring at all levels. Penny served as a volunteer at the Hospice Care Center and for Bath Township, serving as a fiscal officer. She was a master gardener and a lover of animals.
Penny was preceded in death by Jack & Lillian Katz and her cousins Myron Kayton and Howard Katz. She is survived by her son Michael (Jennifer) Marquette; grandchildren Lily, Hayden, Landon, Morgan, & Anthony; sister Lorraine Urreta.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, from 2-4 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron.
