Robert George Leddon

Robert G. Leddon, 83, passed away at home surrounded by family on December 21, 2020 from the effects of multiple myeloma. Bob was born August 12, 1937 in Braddock PA to George G. and Josephine (Broberg) Leddon. He lived in Braddock Hills, PA, Boardman, OH, Flossmoor, IL; and in Green OH since 1989, making many good friends everywhere he lived.
Bob graduated from Edgewood High School, Case Institute of Technology and Youngstown State University. As a metallurgical engineer at The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company and Republic Steel he was proud to be the third generation in his family to work in the steel industry.
Bob is survived by Sylvia, his wife for 60 years; children Doug (Mary) Leddon, Pam Leddon, and Joyce (Jon) Evans; grandchildren Sarah (Brad Hicks) Leddon, Allie Leddon, Bobby Leddon, Lillian Evans and Emma Evans; sisters Joan (Hoagy) Russell and Darlene (Robert) Burkey; sister and brother-in-laws Janet (Ab) Davis and Edward (Cindy) Symons; dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, Ohio was an important part of Bob's life during the last 30 years. He served as an usher, council member and treasurer, but more importantly relished the opportunities for Bible study groups, service projects for families and children, and the sincere friendships he made and the support he received.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and Interment of Ashes will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron, Ohio. Attendees are requested to wear a mask at the service. The service will be live-streamed at holytrinityakron.org/funeral.
