Robert (Bob) Hermann Klocker, 78, passed away January 7, 2022.
Bob was born March 4, 1943 in Akron, Ohio. He attended St. Paul Elementary School. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Bob was a long-time Altar Server at both parishes. He graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School, where he was the Editor of the Senior Class Yearbook. An Eagle Scout, he earned the Ad Altare Dei Award which is conferred by the Catholic Church on a Boy Scout who exemplifies that faith. Upon graduation from the University of Akron, Bob was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army where he served for two years. Upon discharge, Bob returned to Akron and married Nancy Miller. He began his business career at The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company where he worked for 25 years. He then worked for the R E Carroll Company until his retirement.
In his younger days, Bob was an avid tennis player. He was a long-time resident of Wadsworth, Ohio. Bob enjoyed following the Wadsworth HS Girls basketball team and the Ashland Women's basketball team. For the last several years, Bob enjoyed walking at the YMCA early in the morning with Neil Hassinger, Kristin Kidd and Bob Park.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Matt R. and Frieda (Hoegler) Klocker, and his in-laws Tommy and Ruby Miller. He will be sadly missed by his wife, of 53 years, Nancy; son Jason (Erica) and grandsons, Behr and Cash; sister Jeanne Klocker Cummings and her children, Matthew (Cindy) Cummings, and their children, Andrew and Marissa; Robert Cummings and his daughter Isabelle; Jennifer Cummings; and Mark (Christina) Cummings; sister-in-law Sue Miller Abell (Kenny) and their children Stacy Abell Curran (Kevin) and their children Riley, Clay, Delaney and Darby Curran; and Kevin Abell.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 9:15am at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman OH. If planning to attend, arrive no later than 9:00am and pull into the lane designated for his service.
