Robert James Hardesty

Robert J. Hardesty, 74, passed away surrounded by family on September 27, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born in Akron on December 11, 1947 to the late Ralph and Maxie Hardesty. He was a 1966 graduate of Springfield High School and earned his Bachelor's and Master's in education from the University of Akron. He began his teaching career at Stow High School and went on to become principal at Saint Vincent/St. Mary High School, Hudson High School, Stow High School, and Tallmadge High School. After retiring Bob returned to education as principal of Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Bob enjoyed his Tuesday golf games and playing cards with other retired teachers and former students. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially watching their sporting events. Along with his wife Lynn, Bob loved to spend time with their best friends Lynne & Joe.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Lynn; his children Megan (Brian) White and John (Gina) Hardesty; grandchildren Abigail, Evan, Jack, & Sophia.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Pleat, his nurse Chris with Summa Home Care, and the staff at the Cooper Cancer Center for the compassionate care given to Bob.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 30, at 12 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12 pm. Entombment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Bob's memory to the Fr. McIntyre Education Fund c/o IHM Parish.
