STOW - Peter, Kenny Skurkiss, 75, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 after struggling courageously for years with medical complications due to cancer.
Peter was born October 6, 1946, to Joseph and Kathleen (Kenny) Skurkiss in Bloomfield, NJ. He received a BS in Physical Chemistry/Mathematic from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1968, as well as an MS in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1982 and a MBA in Finance from Fairleigh in 1989. He has been an area resident since 2003 settling in Stow.
He was employed as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer by the Avionics division of Cessna, member of Technical staff of Bell Labs and VP of Manufacturing of Merrimac. He also acted as Director of Quality Assurance for ASPE company and was a Manager at Litton Corp as well as Production Manager with Coltene/Whaledent in New York City. Peter was a prolific writer with a keen intellect and was often a featured writer at the AmericanThinker.com. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Emilia (Santiago); sister Diane Johnson and sister-in-law Enid Torres; and many relatives and loved ones in Ohio and New Jersey. He dearly loved his companions Tiger and White Paws.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Society or One of a Kind rescue in Akron.
