Paul Baker Obituary

Paul Baker, 96, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2022.
Paul was born in Patton, PA on May 18,1926 to the late George & Rose Baker. He grew up working on the family farm. Paul signed up to serve his country in WWII as a member of the U.S. Army's 17th and 82nd Airborne Division. Paul was a paratrooper who bravely fought in The Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he moved to Akron, OH to work for B.F. Goodrich. He retired in 1986. Paul attended night school at North High School and earned a high school diploma.
Paul had the eye of a great fixer upper. He loved to work on cars, especially American Motors, and could transform an old piece of furniture into something beautiful. He took care of anyone in need. Paul spent his final years puzzling, watching the "Price is Right" and bursting into song with his daughter at the piano.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his 8 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Margaret; his children Karl (Sonia) Baker and Corinne (John) Magensky; grandchildren Alex & Antonia Baker and Megan & Sara Magensky.
Paul will be laid to rest with full military honors on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10 am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Meals on Wheels of Northeast Ohio by visiting vantageaging.org. (Anthony Funeral Homes, AKRON)
