Michael James Hardman

Michael J. Hardman, 71, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
Michael was born October 7, 1950 to James and Helen (Krannich) Hardman in Akron and had been a Tallmadge resident for many years. He was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 46 years before his retirement. Mike's quick wit and sense of humor always seemed to keep his coworkers on their toes. While he enjoyed his work as a pipefitter, his true passion was the love he had for his family. Although he worked long hours and variable shifts, he never missed an event for his kids (And there were a lot of them!). Mike's greatest joy were his 12 grandchildren. He never turned down an opportunity to read to his grandkids, get down on the floor to play games, or encourage them to get into a little mischief.
Mike was a proud member of USW Local 2, and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Michael is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years Marilyn (McVan); Jerry (Kara) Hardman, Dan (Patti) Hardman and Jon (Trisha) Hardman; grandchildren Hannah, Andrew, Elizabeth, Jenna, Joseph, Alyssa, Bryce, Leah, Cam, Emma, Savannah and Gabriella; and extended family of the McVan, Bulgrin and Whitmer families. He leaves behind his loyal companion, his dog Bernie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son James Hardman.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 8, 2022, from 2 to 5 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S., Main St. Akron where funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2022, at 2:00pm.
