Michael Giebel Obituary

Michael Giebel, 64, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on April 6, 2020.

Mike was born in Akron on September 10, 1955 to the late Charles & Jane Giebel and was a lifetime area resident. He was a 1973 graduate of North High School, where he excelled at baseball, swimming, & track. He attended Muskingum College for a short time and then began a 38 year career in construction, working for the Mar-Zane Inc. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #18. Mike enjoyed golf and playing cards.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Arthur. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Karen; son Jerrod (Laura) Giebel; granddaughter Arianna; brother Jeffrey (Diana); sisters Jan & Bobbie.

Mike will be cremated and laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
