Mary Margaret (Form) (Frang) Koncz, 97, passed away Friday, January 29, 2020.
Mary was born in Akron on January 23, 1924 to the late Val & Julia Form and was a lifelong area resident. A 1942 graduate of Garfield High School, she married Tony Frang and together they raised their 3 daughters. After Tony's death in 1980, Mary found love again and married Andrew Koncz, who passed in 2002. She worked as a hair stylist and was beloved by her clients. Mary was a formed parishioner of St. John the Baptist and was an active member of every parish she belonged to over the years, including St. Peter and St. Paul, where she served as a lector, an Altar Society member, and a member of the Ladies Guild. She also belonged to the Firestone Park Seniors and the Green AARP.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mary was preceded in by her sister Kathleen (Tony) Macchariole; and brother-in-law George Kacsanek. She is survived by her daughters Valerie (David) Ehret, Toni Marie Studds, and Beverly Ann Fatkins; sisters Elizabeth Ruip, and Johanna Kacsanek; grandchildren Tamara (Charles) Parker, Douglas (Cortney) Ehret, Tonya (Richard) Adame, Natalie Fatkins, and Mitchell (Krista) Fatkins; great-grandchildren Grant, Reed, Savannah, Blake, Ricca, Valentina, Grace, Connor, Brady, and Karson; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St, Akron, OH 44301 where the family will receive friends beginning at 10AM. Masks and social distancing required. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
