Margarita Vasquez, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 8, 2020.
Margarita was born in Mexico to Claudio Chavez and Juanita Torrez on March 30, 1971 and came to America in the mid-1980s, settling in Chicago. She moved with her family to Akron just last year. Margarita was an amazing cook and baker. She loved her job at Acme, where she worked in the bakery making bread and decorating beautiful cakes. She also enjoyed gardening and was just getting started on hers this year. She adored her children and grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed.
Margarita was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Torrez. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Juan; her children Rosalinda, Juanita, Juan De Dios, Joselyn, Jason; her father Claudio Chavez; brother and sisters Maria Vera, Maria Mercado, Ernesto Galindo, Cesario Galindo, Jose Galindo, Claudio Chavez Jr., Servando Chavez, Selena Chavez, Augustin Chavez, Alexander Chavez; grandchildren.. Cristina F. Chavez, Adrián N Chavez, Brian Chavez, América T. Chavez, Yaneli M. Chavez, Adrián Jr (chiquitin). Nieces and nephews; Maria A. Vera, Norma Vera, Alfredo Vera, Ernesto Galindo, Angel Mercado, Diana Galindo, Cindy Galindo, Freddy Galindo, Janeth Galindo, Giovanni Galindo, Giovanna Galindo; and many other loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 4-8PM on Friday, May 15 at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Covid-19 restrictions are in effect: Everyone MUST wear a mask and maintain six foot distances from each other.. To maintain social distancing, the number of visitors at any given time will be limited; if the maximum number is reached, guests will have to wait outside for others to leave before they can pay their respects. Funeral services will begin with prayers at 9:00AM on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian burial at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave, in downtown Akron. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
