GREEN - Lois Jean Witsaman, 92, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Aultman Woodlawn Hospice.
Lois was born March 15, 1929 to John and Mary (Muntzing) Slawter. She spent her entire life in Green, and graduated in 1947 from Greensburg High School. She married her high school sweetheart Roy Lee Witsaman in 1948 and they raised their four children in Green. She was a cafeteria manager for Green Local Schools, where she worked for over 22 years, and also a member of the Green Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary.
Lois lived a life full of deep faith in Jesus and reflected his love in all things. She was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church and sang in the choir.
Lois and Roy enjoyed 18 ocean cruises, yearly vacations to Canada and their winters on Jekyll Island, GA. She was loved by all and always cared for others more than herself. We will treasure her in our hearts forever.
Lois is survived by her husband of 73 years, Roy L.; children Nancy Allison, Sherry (Roger) Reed, Cynthia (Nick) Celetti and Roy A. (Kelly) Witsaman; sisters Mary Lou Williams and Carol Kramer; grandchildren Sarah (Paul) Wulff, Anna (Ryan) McFall, Nathan (Alysse) Allison, Stephen (Lindsay) and Jeffrey (Kim) Weigand, Kelly (Steve) Paugh, Christina (Paul) Payne, Chad (Kristy) Celetti, Ashlee Lamb, and David and Michael Witsaman; 24 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by grandsons Brian and Daniel Weigand and parents-in-law Wilbur and Anna Witsaman.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road, Uniontown (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads, entrance off Steese Rd). Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 at 12:00pm at Greensburg United Methodist Church, 2161 Greensburg Rd, North Canton, OH 44720, where the family will receive friends prior to the service.
