Leslie A. Berdyck, 68, passed away on September 16, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Leslie was born in Wadsworth, OH on March 12, 1955 to the late Francis & Mary Berdyck and was a 1974 graduate of Norton High School. Leslie developed epilepsy at the age of 8, but never let it be a disability. After graduation, Leslie worked for 28 years at the Akron Goodwill, until moving to Maryland in 2003, where he continued to work and live a fulfilling life. He returned to the Akron area in July of 2021.
Leslie loved crossword puzzles, gardening, bowling, hiking, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by sisters Nancy Apynys & Francie Black. He is survived by his siblings Florian (Laura), Eugene, Mary (Bob) Studham, Arline Bratanov, Ralph, Ruth Payne, and Fred, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff of the Green Village Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center for the compassionate care given to Leslie.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 24, from 1-2 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service at 2 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (Entrance off of Steese Rd.) in Green. Leslie will be interred next to his mother at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville, OH.
