Lesia Joyner, 77, joined her husband Jack in Heaven, surrounded by family, on January 13, 2023.
Lesia was born on October 23 to the late Karl & Lidia Stanko and immigrated to the US in 1949. She was a graduate of Revere High School and retired from Chicago Title. Her greatest accomplishment came when she earned the title "Baba". A longtime member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, she was extremely proud of her Ukrainian heritage and passed that love on through cooking and traditions.
Along with her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by her brothers Boris and Anatole. She is survived by her daughters Liz (Aaron) Wilkinson and Christine (fiancé Efrain Parra) Joyner; grandchildren Lauren, Noah, and Sydney; brother Victor (Ethel) Stanko and sister Oxana (Ron) Everitt.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, January 19, from 5-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 20, at 10:00 am, at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1866 Brown St. Akron, OH 44301. A private Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
