Kerry Galliher Obituary

Kerry P. Galliher, 75, passed away on October 6, 2021 after a three year battle with cancer.
Kerry was born on January 31, 1946 in Ashland, OH and grew up in Jeromesville, OH. He retired from the Akron Public Schools in 2006 as a teacher with 35 years of service. Kerry was a graduate of Kent State University, attending after serving two years in the US Army, his primary post being on the DMZ in Korea from 1966 to 1967. He was a member of both the American Legion Post 0749 in Jeromesville and the VFW Post 3383 in Akron. He was also a member of the Allenside Athletic Club, where he served as secretary for 16 years.
Kerry was preceded in death by his parents Foster & Nellie; sister Dixie and brother-in law Dave McQuillen; brothers Tim & Mike.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years and best friend Constance; brother Kenny of Orlando; brothers and sisters-in-law Bob & Cathy Struble & Rick & Carol Reynolds, all of Akron; sisters-in-law Tami of Shreve, OH & Darcy of Mansfield, along with many nieces & nephews.
Kerry enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the United States and their two trips to Europe. Semi-Annual trips to N. Myrtle Beach became an anticipated and relaxing escape. In addition, he enjoyed golfing with the finest group of golfer friends anyone could have.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.
