On Monday, March 29, 2021, Judith Ann Von Alt passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.
Judith was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania where she met the love of her life, James W. Von Alt. She moved to Akron, Ohio in 1961 and subsequently resided in Cuyahoga Falls. She worked in the banking industry for 26 years, working her way up to collections supervisor with the former National City Bank, retiring in 1999. Judith was a loving and dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She liked playing bingo and card games with family and friends, going to the casino, bowling, and enjoying weekly lunches with her longtime friends. She also treasured spending time with her 5 daughters and 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth (Stephens) High; daughter, Sharon Von Alt; and siblings, Ruth Allshouse, Beulah Murphy, Ivo High, Patricia Davidson, Elinor Snow, David High and Susan Weidele. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James W. Von Alt; daughters, Ann (Tom) Ziegler, Patricia (Ken) Walter, Kimberly Grable, and Julie (Jeff) Humphrey; grandchildren, Michele Hayden, Jessica (Derek) Rogers, Brian (Jennifer) Ziegler, Kylie Walter, Erika Grable, Kevin (Britany) Walter, Angela Wharton and Robert Wharton; and 6 great-grandchildren; Evelyn and Derek Jr. Rogers, Payton and Addie Walter, Harper Grable, and Amelia Ziegler.
Funeral service will be held Friday, 6 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221 where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Masks and Social Distancing Required.
