Josephine Marie (Meredino) Gergosky

Josephine (Jo) M. Gergosky, 92, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022.
Jo is reunited with her loving husband Bob following 57 years of marriage. Born to Italian immigrants in Akron, 1929, she lived her entire life in the Akron area. Jo's life was defined as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, social director and friend. Jo and Bob were imbedded in weekend polka dancing with friends and family. Occasional casino trips became a favorite in their lives as they aged. Bob and Jo took great delight in the many catering events under their culinary skills. In her life following Bob's passing, Jo was able to use her fortitude and the grace she possessed to live her remaining years with peace and comfort. Having to leave independent living, transferring her residence to assisted living followed by skilled nursing, she was a true joy to the employees in her care.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Santa Merendino, her loving husband Bob, daughter Maryann and brother Sam Merendino. She is survived by daughters Linda and Patricia, grandchildren Justin, Robert and Nicole, and great grand daughter Kayden. She is also survived by her loving sisters Jennie, Angie and Rose. Many in-laws, nieces and nephews survive her as well. Wholehearted thanks to employees of Summit Point assisted living and Kensington of Anna Maria who took on the caregiving along with her loving daughters. In lieu of calling hours, there will be of celebration of life at a later date.
