Joseph A. Novak
May 30, 1939 ~ November 7, 2023 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Joseph 'Joe' A. Novak, 84, passed away on November 7, 2023.
Joe was born on May 30, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph & Anna Novak and was a longtime resident of Munroe Falls. He retired as an OTR truck driver from Roadway Express in 2003. He was a former member of St. Eugene Catholic Church where he served as a eucharistic minister and was currently a parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Joe served his country as a member of the Marine Corps from 1957-1960. He was a strong and humble man who provided for his family with hard work and little complaint. He prayed much and spoke with truth, strength, wisdom and humility. Joe loved to support his grandchildren. Whether it was sporting events, sledding, or vacations, he never missed an opportunity to be with his family. Joe had a quick, spur of the moment type of humor that kept everyone laughing. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Joe was a jack of all trades who could fix anything. He wasn't afraid to tear anything apart and rebuild it.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister Lorraine Huchrowski and son-in-law David Durst. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (nee Maryanski); his children Ann (Jim) Mikesina, Tracy (Dave) Campanella, Charles Novak, Stephen (Boopha) Novak, Elizabeth Green, & Charity Novak; grandchildren Frances, Matthew, Alexsandr, William, Megan, Thomas, Joseph, Phelan, Elena, Andrew, & Jack; great-grandchildren Michael, Olivia, & Zachary; brother Edward (Lenore) Novak.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 5-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave (at 3rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16, 9:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls.
