Jorge L. Vega

Jorge L. Vega, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 22, 2024. Jorge was born October 6, 1936 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to the late Marcia and Ramona Vega. He came to Ravenna, Ohio in 1955 and worked as a farm hand. He was a longtime employee of R.B. Stout and retired from American Patio Rooms. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Jorge was a lifelong Guardians fan, he enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and boxing, and gardening. Jorge enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jorge was preceded in death by his former wife Mary Ann, along with 8 siblings. He is survived by his children, Jorge Jr. (Angela) and Victoria Vega and grandchildren Noah, Kaeleb, Alexzander, Laylonii, Havanna, and Carrlita.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7 PM on Wednesday, March 27 at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Burial at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333.
