Harold Wayne Scott, affectionately known to his friends and family as "Wayne", was called home to the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Wayne was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia but moved with his family at an early age to Cleveland, Ohio where he spent his youth. In 1967, Wayne's family settled in Green, Ohio where he became a 1971 graduate of Green High School and soon after graduating, married his high school sweetheart, Linda. Wayne and Linda started a family of their own and have resided in the Green area ever since. In 2016 Wayne retired from Pneumatic Scale where he worked as a Welder/Fabricator for 36 years. When Wayne wasn't at work, he enjoyed fishing, horror movies with his sister Russella, spending time with family at Dragway 42 and working as grill master for family picnics and barbecues. His special relationship with his Grandson Zack, who was more like a son than a grandson, kept him going in his later years, his buddy, his pal. Wayne was a devoted family man who always made time for his family and friends, be it a helping hand, a compassionate ear or fatherly advice. He leaves a void that can never be filled. Our hearts are irreparably broken.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Grace Scott. His brothers Jimmy, Jerry, David, Ronnie and Carl, sisters, Versa, Edna and Dessie. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Linda (Sayre), Son Rick (Jill) Scott of Hilton Head, SC; Daughters Michelle (John) Maximovich and Meggan (Jim) Black, both of Green, Ohio. Grandchildren, Zachary, Danielle, Brittany, Dustin, Tyler and Erin. Great-Grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa and Peyton. He will lovingly be remembered and missed by his brothers Bobby, Delmas, sister Russella and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to thank Kim and Michelle from Compassionate Care Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
A celebration of Wayne's life will take place on Friday, May 13, at 1:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green 4178 Massillon Rd. in Green (entrance off of Steese Rd.), where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. (Anthony Funeral Homes, GREEN)
