Gerald 'Jerry' M. Froebe, 87, passed away on May 18, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL.
Jerry was born in Akron on December 5, 1933 to the late John & Caroline Froebe. He was a lifelong resident of Silver Lake, spending his winters at the Landings in Fort Myers, FL. Jerry was a graduate of Chagrin Falls High School and obtained his Bachelors and Masters in Education from Bradley University. He retired from Akron Public Schools in 1987 after 31 years at Kenmore High School as a woodshop teacher. After retirement he spent his summers working at the boat house at Silver Lake and was also in charge of the life guards. He was well-loved at Silver Lake and will forever be sailing into the distance.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley. He is survived by his children Ken (Lynn) Evans, Patty, Pete (Anna), & Roy (Virgie) Froebe; grandchildren Drew, Anna, Josh, Hannah, David, and Dylan; brother Jack (Helena) Froebe; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Christine & Jack Trier; niece and nephew Shirley (Mark) Vaughn & David Trier.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 28, from 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel 247 Stow Ave (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, where a funeral will be held on Saturday, at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls. (McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, FALLS)
