Frederick Nixon Obituary
Frederick Albert Nixon, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
A lifelong Akron resident, he worked as an automotive technician for 30 years and most recently in sales with NAPA. In his free time he enjoyed a game of golf with his childhood friends, and being ‘Pop’ to his three grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Nancy (Smith) Nixon; step-father Robert Johnson; mother-in-law, Jonlene Severns; sister-in-law, Stacy Barrett; and nephew, John Barrett. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cathy (Barrett) Nixon; daughters, Julyan (Patrick) Fogarty and Shelby Nixon (Brandon Golden); son, Michael (Abigail) Nixon; brother, Gene (Karen) Nixon; sister, Diana Woods; sisters-in-law, Julie (George) Walter, Gia Barrett and Deborah (James) Marcinko; brothers-in-law, John and Mark Barrett; grandchildren, Jaxson, Teagan, London, and soon to be expected Carter; many nieces and nephews; step brothers & sisters, and lifelong friends.
He is the center around which so many cherished family memories revolve. The stories about him will forever provide laughter and happiness to his family. Our Freddie, our Daddy, our Pop; holding you in our hearts always.
Private services have been held with interment at East Akron Cemetery.
