Franz (Frank) Bindreiter
North Canton, Ohio- Franz (Frank) Bindreiter, 91, passed away on June 7, 2021. Our dad was born May 11, 1930, in Kirchdorf, Austria. He was the son of Franz Bindreiter and Maria (Ramsimmer) Baumgartner. Franz was a 62-year member of IBEW Local #306 and was a Journeyman Electrician. Franz married Rose (Becker) Bindreiter in 1956. They celebrated 65 wonderful and loving years of marriage in February. He shared his love of downhill skiing with his family and countless others. He was one of the original ski instructors at Boston Mills and taught for 55 years.
Franz raised a loving family, his son, Harry (Denise) Bindreiter, daughter Carmen (Grant) Huston, and son Frank (Diane) Bindreiter. He was Opa to his 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Katie (Alex) Fetterman, Rose Fetterman, Mary (Nate) Buckohr, Sawyer and Grace Buckhor, Hannah Bindreiter, Daniel Huston, Alex Bindreiter, and Rachel Bindreiter. He took great pride and joy in his family who all adored him.
Franz was a member of Nativity of the Lord Jesus Christ Catholic Church. He enjoyed his longtime memberships at the Akron Ski Club and the German Family Society of Akron. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Franz loved him. He and Rosie have led an active life. They loved to ski, travel, golf, play tennis, dance, sing and mostly to be surrounded by laughter with many friends and family. Franz will be dearly missed and will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to thank the staff at Sanctuary Grande for the compassionate care they provided to Franz.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road, Uniontown 44685. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at Nativity Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd., Akron OH 44312. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Prost and auf wiedersehen to "the captain".
