Frank J. Spinelli, 95, passed away on July 6, 2021.
Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 21, 1926 to the late Frank & Rose Spinelli and had been a Falls resident since 1963. He served his country in the US Army during WWII from 1942 to 1944, earning the Bronze & Silver Star. He always said that his biggest accomplishment was surviving the war. While living in New York, Frank worked in construction, had a 7up route, and worked as a NY Fire Fighter Engine Company no. 246. In 1963 Frank opened the Kit Kat Bar in Cuyahoga Falls and operated it from 1963 to 1998. He also owned and operated the Mr. Skillet Restaurant on Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Frank loved watching sports, horse racing, & boxing. Frank was a true patriot. He understood the price for freedom. He loved the American Flag, the National Anthem, and the principles they were founded upon.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by sisters Mary & Anna and brother Leo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Rita; his children Carol (Ted) Solotoff, Frank Lehmbek, Susan (Mike) Mackin, Joseph (Amy) Spinelli, Diane Marque, & Nancy (Dan) LaMarca; grandchildren WIlliam (Jen), Gayle (Kevin), Jacob (Krissy), Julie, Alex, & Nick; great-grandchildren Eli, Luke, Madison, Peyton, Cameron, & Vincent. Frank also leaves behind his faithful companion Mr. Kitty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 13, at 11 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to your favorite veteran charity or animal shelter.
