Daniel Ignatius Pillitiere

Daniel I. Pillitiere, 78, returned to Our Lord on Monday, May 23, 2022 after an extended illness.
Danny was born September 15, 1943, to Ignatius and Rose (Piazza) Pillitiere in Akron and had been an Akron area resident his entire life. He is survived by his children Gina (Justin) Wooden, Daniel (Nicole) Pillitiere, Michael (Jennifer) Pillitiere, and his grandchildren Gianna, Anna, and Ignatius Pillitiere.
Danny was well-known in Firestone Park and had many friends. A savvy businessman, he was the owner of the Yellow Submarine, Pillitiere's Restaurant and the Peppermill Cafe in Twinsburg. In addition, he assisted in setting up the clubhouse at Firestone Public Golf Course.
Danny had the reputation of a tough guy. He was also a loving, loyal, and devoted father, brother, son and friend. You could always count on him to pull you out of a jam. He will be sorely missed.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2022, from 5 to 8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St., Akron OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday June 4, 2022, at 11:00am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave, Akron, OH 44320.
