Daisy Ruth Ivey, born February 27, 1936 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the age of 85.
Daisy was a nurse by trade, but she took that calling into her personal life as well. She was ready and there to care for family and friends when in need, often times bringing them into her own home to care for them while they recovered. She was generous, caring, and selfless. This was most evident in the way she cared for her late husband, Vernon, of 45 years and her children and grandchildren. She was a strong woman of faith and gave the best advice-most often reminding us all to, "Take one day at a time". The family wants to give special thanks to her son Brad for the care he provided her the last year and a half and niece Laurie for the incredible, round-the-clock, care she helped provided in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Ivey Sr.; parents, Harry and Laoma Pike; sibling, Edward Pike; and granddaughter McKenna Rae Ivey; she is survived by sons, Wayne (Wanda) Shultz, Brad Shultz, and Vernon (Michelle) Ivey Jr.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Mallory, Sue Sheets, and Mary Alice (Bunny) Shultz; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 21, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Followed by private interment. Masks and social distancing required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aultman Hospice.
