Brian Lyons Obituary

Brian Joseph Lyons, 62, died Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, in Akron, Ohio.
Brian was born to Edmund George Lyons and Sallie (Hensley) Lyons on October 14th, 1959, in Belleville, Michigan. He was a graduate of Wayne Memorial Highschool in Wayne, Michigan and attended the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
On July 7th, 1977, he entered the United States Air Force where he served as an E-4 Communications Specialist in ground radio. At the end of his honorable service within the Air Force, he was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and was on the closing team for the Rickenbacker Air Force Base. On December 12th, 1982, he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.
Through out his many years after the United States Air Force, Brian owned and operated an antique store, bartended, owned and published his own magazine named Expose, worked for 32 years at Siemens as a Medical Diagnostic Field Engineer, and most notable was the Proprietor of Cocktails Akron and Cocktails Cleveland.
Brian and his partner were RV enthusiasts exploring the east coast from New Hampshire to Florida to visit friends while meeting new people from across the country. He also loved taking trips with his partner and friends on his motorcycle, which was a passion for many years.
Brian reminded us of the preciousness of life through his consistent support of the LGBTQ+ community. He participated and donated to many community events in support of causes that further progressed the LGBTQ+ community, reflected unity and togetherness, and provided support to those truly in need.
Personally, he gave his time and from his own pocket to ensure someone had groceries, had transportation back and forth to work, was adequately dressed for an interview by purchasing clothes, gave money to pay bills, paid for rent, even aided in home purchases to ensure there was a roof over his friends heads, and for those that left too early from this life he aided to provide a proper funeral.
Brian is survived by his loving partner, Dinh Lyons and many close friends.
