Betty Jean Oprian, 94, passed away on May 1, 2022 at her home.
Betty was born in Clymer, Pennsylvania and was a lifelong Akron area resident. She worked for Builder Supply as a secretary and bookkeeper but was predominantly a wonderful and loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was most happy when surrounded by her family. An avid seamstress, quilter, and cook; Betty gave generously of her time and talent cooking for Firestone Park United Methodist Church, AARP dinners and our communities needy. Her strong faith, caring heart, and quick wit will be dearly missed by her family, friends and community.
Betty was preceded in death by parents, George and Martha (Jamison) Jones; grandson, William C. Glymph; brothers, Thomas and Samuel Jones; and sister, Doris Roberts. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, John; children, Cathy (Wes) Anderson, Susan (William) Glymph, John (Suzanne) Oprian, and Elizabeth (Bruce) Hayes; grandchildren, Sarah (Cole) Stallings, Cory Anderson, Brian (Christina) Glymph, Laura (William) Munroe, Rachel and Candace Oprian, Karli (Jarod) Williams, Danny (Sarah) and Sammy (Brianna) Hayes; great-grandchildren, Thomas, C.J., Billy, Isaiah, Sophia, Graham, Juliana, Amelia, Charlotte, Lincoln, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Jen, Tara, Ray, Jordan, Shelly, Billie-Jo, Andy, Holly and Dan of Kindred Hospice and Denise Spurlock for their loving care.
