Barbara Ann (Mesko) Mesko

Barbara Ann Mesko, 77, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Barbara was born May 17, 1942 to John and Mary (Novachek) Mesko in Akron and had been an area resident most of her life. She has been an educator her entire life, beginning as a Vincentian Sister of Charity (Sr. Rebecca, VSC) for 22 years. She continued her career with the diocese of Cleveland as the principal of Annunciation Catholic School in Akron, retiring after 24 years. She was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.

Barbara is survived by her siblings Patricia Kovac, Michael (Joyce Schuchman) Mesko, Mary (John) Bralek and Rebecca (David) Udall; nieces and nephews Barbara Ann (Rob) Cuckler, Pete (Corinna) Kovac, Grey, Jenny and Jessica Mesko, Tina (David) Cheney, Kristen (Michael) Schueller and Abigail (Erik) Davis; great nieces and nephews Andrew and John Kovac, Aidan Cuckler, Mikayla Kovac, Elise Cheney and Madelyn Schueller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Mesko.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave, Barberton, OH 44203 where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the Mass. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr suite e, Uniontown, OH 44685.
