William Michael Shaffer

March 9, 1950 — November 6, 2022


William "Mike" Shaffer, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his home.
Mike was born in Buckhannon, WV to the late Ferris Max & Mary Shaffer, and came to Ohio as a young child. He retired from Ford Motor and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 420. He enjoyed camping and fishing. Mike loved his kids and grandkids, and was the greatest Papa they could ask for. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandpa, with his first great-granddaughter due next Spring. He was an all around family man who loved being a dad and loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Shirley & Lloyd Wilborn; and sister-in-law JoAnn Bosley. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Labbe); son Brad Shaffer; daughter Sarah (Jeremy) Hammel; grandchildren Kaitlyn & Hannah Shaffer, Lillian, Jacob, & Aidan Hammel; brother Jerry Bosley; sister Anita DeLaHunt; brothers-in-law Frank (Sher) Labbe & Joe (Diana) Labbe; sisters-in-law Sue (Jeff) Moorehead & Sandy (Mike) Yamokoski; and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
