William Wiley Bresson

March 15, 1935 — July 31, 2021

Age 86 of Canton, passed away on July 31, 2021 following a short illness. He was born on March 15, 1935 in Canton, OH. He was the son of Russell and Burdell (Haas) Bresson of Louisville, Ohio, who proceeded in him in death along with his brothers: Maurice, Russell, and Ronnie Bresson.

Bill was a 1953 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where he played varsity football & basketball. He had many friends at St. Louis and Central Catholic, many of which he maintained close comradery over his 86 years.

Bill was a veteran in the United States Army, having served as part of The Transportation Corps, and was stationed in Germany during Korean War. Upon his return, he held various jobs eventually retiring as a Sales Representative for Peachtree Fabrics of Atlanta, GA covering many mid-west states over his 30 year career.

Bill loved many sports. He was a member of the N.E. Ohio Boccie Association and was active member of the St. Anthony's Golf League many years. Bill was a Holly Hills Baseball Coach, Past President of the St. Thomas Aquinas Knightliners, Usher at Little Flower Catholic Church, and most recently in his golden years a member of the NEOH Austin-Healy Sports Car Club. Bill was also an aficionado and lover of Walt Disney; he just loved going to Disney World to see his favorite character, Goofy. Bill, and his wife Rosemary, made over 28 trips to Florida and he even left his name and picture on the "Legacy Wall" in Disney's Epcot Center. Bill was also an avid gardener, spending many hours manicuring the various flowers in his gardens along with his trusty beagle companion and buddy, Roxy at his side.

William is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary (Gennett) Bresson; Daughter, Regina (Gregory) Wagner of Stow, OH; Son, Gregory (Kathleen) Bresson of Powhatan, VA; seven grandchildren Megan (Peter) Znidarsic, Jessica (Nicholas) King Smith, Devon Wagner, Erica Wagner and Hugo, Reed & Blair Bresson; and six greatgrandchildren Mckayla, Olivia, Maks, Greta and Mikah Znidarsic & Asher King Smith and future sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, August 6 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 2040 Diamond Street NE in Canton, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior. The Very Rev. Canon Christopher Henyk officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to Central Catholic and/or St. Thomas Aquinas High Schools. (anthonyfh.com)
