Walter W. Tomich (Walt) 90, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024 with his wife Donna by his side at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman, Ohio.
Walter was born in Granite City, Illinois on June 9, 1934. Walter retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years of service. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army as a medic and served in Fort Hood, Texas. He was a committed Christian and a member of Maranatha Bible Church. He was a member of various veterans clubs. His favorite hobbies were fishing, playing horseshoes, model cars and socializing with his friends at the Jubilee Donut Shop.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Katherine Tomich and sister Dorothy (Jerry) Skidmore. He is survived by his wife Donna Tomich; stepdaughters Diane (Hank) Middleton and Theresa (Larry) Seed; brother David (Millie) Tomich; sisters Martha (Harold) Kupfer, Angie (Jim) Haring, Pauline (Ken) Stuber, Julia (Bill) Tracey and Betty (Chuck) Mason; grandsons Kyle, Zachary, Patrick; and many nephews, nieces and a grandchild.
Walter's family wants to thank the Apostolic Christian Home for their excellent care in the past two years.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 19 at 11AM at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S Main St in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10AM. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
