Walter W. Plakson

Walter W. Plakson, 84, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2020.
Born in Akron on February 28, 1936, Walt had been a lifetime Akron resident. He attended South High School and served his country in the US Army. He worked for Alside for over 30 years, before retiring in 1990.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Anna Plakson; his siblings Helen Nemer, Ann Jenkins, & Alex Plakson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Gail; his daughter Connie (Greg) Lallathin; granddaughter Brittany Lallathin.
Walt was also survived by his sister-in-law Helen Plakson, as well as members of Gail's family: sister Katherine (George) Epling, brothers Gary (Dean) Richards, Don (Shirley) Richards, Jim Richards; also sister-in-law Mary Margaret Richards. He had many nieces and nephews from both families. His niece Mary Ann Gillis was like a sister to him, as they were close in age and grew up together with Walt's brother Alex in the same household.

Family was all important to Walt. He was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
