Virginia L. Mapus

Virginia L. Mapus, 86, passed away January 11, at the VNS Hospice Care Center in Copley.
She was born in Montgomery, West Virginia April 4, 1927 and has resided in Fremont, OH, Boardman, OH, and Cuyahoga Falls, before moving to the Briarwood in 2011.
She was predeceased by her parents William & Maud Smith; brothers Ronald & Charles and sisters Violet, Elline, & Mary. Her husband Bob passed away in 2003. She is survived by her son Chuck (Linda) Mapus; grandchildren Kristen (Brad) Sackella of Poland, OH, Sandra Mapus of Boardman & Stephen (Erika) Mapus of Canfield. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Morgan, & Taylor. A special thanks to her niece, Carma Vasu of Boardman, who spent much time with her. She is also survived by many other nieces & nephews.
Her family would like to thank the staff of the Briarwood and the staff at both Akron General Medical Center and VNS Hospice for their care and compassion.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Castalia, OH. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
