Vincenzina Santina "Tina" Smiroldo, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 22, 2018.
Born in Sicily, Tina came to Akron in 1968, where she and her husband opened Santino's Foreign Car Service in 1985. She worked as a chef for Vaccaro's since 1968. Generous, kind, and an incredible cook, Tina was a true Sicilian grandmother-you never left her house hungry. Her strength, both physical and mental, exceeded her tiny stature, taking care of her daughter Linda and her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Santino; and her siblings Sandy & Attilio. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Sabina (William) Clark and Linda Smiroldo; grandsons Dakota & Zachary Marcin; and many close family & friends.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, January 25 from 4-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd., Uniontown OH 44685 (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off Steese Rd.) Funeral services will begin 10:45AM Friday at the funeral home with prayers, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 4019 Manchester Road in Akron. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made to the family.
