Vincent Edward Blackert

Vincent E. Blackert, Sr, 58, died suddenly on August 5, 2021 at his home.
Vince was born on June 26, 1963 in Barberton and was a lifelong area resident. A 1981 graduate of Coventry High School, Vince joined the US Army after graduation. After 7 years with the Army, he returned to Ohio and worked in construction, going on to become a skilled mason. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and the outdoors. Vince could fix anything and was generous with his time. He could always be counted on when anybody needed help.
Vince was preceded in death by his father Edward; and infant brothers Kenneth & Mark. He is survived by his children Vincent E. Jr and Carolyn Dawn and their mother Michele Blackert; mother Ann; siblings Laurie (Bill) Harris, Janice (Dwayne) Tepus, Jennie (Mike) Cadwell, Amy Brumfield (Scott Troyer); brother-in-law James Brumfield; beloved dog Thor; and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 12 from 5-8PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel 1990 S Main St in Akron, where a service will be held at 8PM, Fr. Michael B. Smith officiating. Please wear your Cleveland Browns attire or any casual wear. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
