Vicki Lee Pritchard Wallace
April 29, 1951 - October 4, 2024
Vicki Lee Pritchard was born in Akron, Ohio on April 29, 1951, as the second child of John Earl Pritchard and Joan Sarah Houck.
She attended Akron Public Schools through ninth grade and graduated from Barberton High School in 1969. She went on to the University of Akron, where she earned degrees in German and History. It was there that she met Jim Wallace during her freshman year; they shared much in common. After graduating in 1973, Vicki began her teaching career in German at Our Lady of the Elms High School, later teaching at Akron Public Schools, the University of Akron, and Spring Garden Waldorf School. In 1997, she transitioned from teaching to a career at Allstate Insurance.
Vicki married Jim Wallace on June 12, 1976. They shared 48 remarkable years together, raising their daughter, Sarah Lucille Wallace, born in 1978. The family resided in West Akron for three years, Cuyahoga Falls for 26 years, and spent the past 19 years in Green, Ohio.
Vicki's family was the center of her world. She cherished her daughter, who was her best friend, and took immense pride in her six grandchildren. Vicki also loved her pets, considering them as beloved family members.
Vicki had a deep love for the ocean. She and Jim first visited Cape Cod early in their marriage and made annual trips to Myrtle Beach almost every October after she stopped teaching. She also enjoyed game shows, HGTV, and word puzzles.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Jim Wallace, her daughter, Sarah Wallace, and her six grandchildren: Adam, Samantha, Luke, Naomi, Mary, and James Lapham, all of Green. She is also survived by her sister, Candace Pritchard, of Barberton, and her beloved pets, Donna, Mystery, and Alejandro. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John F. Pritchard.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at AlterCare in Hartville for their support and care.
