Tom Decastro

Cloyd "Tom" DeCastro passed away peacefully on October 12, 2017 with family at his side.
He was born on November 15, 1929 to Bill and Mary DeCastro. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill and Pat DeCastro; sisters-in-law Josephine DeCastro, Faye DeCastro, and Mildred DeCastro; brothers-in-law Frank Barber, Andy Moser, John Moser, Steven Moser, Dan Moser, Joe Moser, and Paul Moser; and his beloved wife Dorothy. He is survived by stepsons David (Rene') Dornack, Kenneth (Janet) Dornack; grandchildren Rachael Dornack, David (Maria) Dornack, Jessica (Brandon) Johnson, Stephen (Jamie) Dornack, and David Lowry; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Frank DeCastro, and Dudley DeCastro; sister Margaret Barber; sisters-in-law Mary (Earl) Federer & Esther (Darrell) Storm; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Tom was famous for his bone crushing handshake followed by a devilish grin. He was such a kid at heart. He loved to tinker around with things. He enjoyed solitaire on the computer, playing with hand-held games, going to bingo, getting scratch-off tickets and trips to casinos. In addition, he loved spending time with his grandchildren at Akron Auto Sales where he was a permanent fixture for many years. Most of all, he will be remembered by how much he loved and doted on our Mother.

Visitation will be Monday, October 16 from 5-7PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St, in Akron. A funeral service will begin at 7PM, immediately following the visitation. Burial at Holy Cross will take place at a later date. (Akron, 330-724-1281, anthonyfh.com)
