Thomas Szalay

Thomas L Szalay, 73, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Akron General Medical Center.
Thomas was born October 18, 1941 to Péter and Ilona (Farkas) Szalai in Ugod, Hungary and immigrated to the U.S. in 1956. He was employed by General Motors for over 25 years.
Thomas is survived by his children David (Krista) Szalay and Kathy (Duane) Esterle; grandchildren Alex and Matthew Szalay and Brooke, Gadge and Justin (Kayliegh) and Rob Esterle; sister Magda (Paul) Rozsa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife Barbara and sisters Maria Horvath and Anna Szalai. Thank you to Mark and Betsy Victor for their long friendship.
He was loved by everyone and affectionally known as Papa. He touched the lives of many and had a heart of gold, generous and giving to everyone. He will be greatly missed.
