Thomas Christ Peterson

-CUYAHOGA FALLS Thomas Peterson, 82, died April 23, 2017. He was born in Akron, OH to Christ and Mary Peterson on Jan. 31, 1935. He graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in chemistry and worked at General Tire Rubber Co. and Horizon Research as a research chemist. He later received a Master of Science in Management degree and taught at the University of Akron. He enjoyed hiking and spent many hours volunteering as a math tutor for elementary school children through a United Methodist Church program. He was preceded in death by former wife Sue Dye and by longtime companion Caroline Bochard. He is survived by son John and daughters Jennifer and Julie as well as his sister Nellie Blakemore.
