Thomas R. Meeker, 70, of Peninsula passed away on August 6. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he had lived in Stow for a number of years while working for Hardman, Inc. as product manager. After his retirement in 2010 he returned to Northeast Ohio. Tom was a graduate of Rutgers University and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. A member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish and he also had belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He had a passion for gardening and participated in the Community Gardens of Cuyahoga Falls. His survivors include wife of 48 years, Viola; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Tammy of New Jersey; brother, Richard; and a grandson and granddaughter. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd. at Rt. 91). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (83 Mosser Pl., Akron, OH 44310). Interment at All Saints Cemetery will follow.
